Historically, the course had always been delivered in a classroom. However, when the pandemic hit, and face-to-face training was suspended, we wanted to find a way to help construction workers continue their training and continue working.
Following CITB’s decision to temporarily allow training providers to deliver the Health & Safety Awareness course remotely, we became the first training provider to deliver the course online.
Our team worked hard to get our CITB Health & Safety Awareness online course up and running as quickly as possible to enable our customers to continue training. The first course sold out within 48 hours. The team was really excited by this and started looking at delivering more CITB courses online in the coming weeks.
We were really pleased with how our delegates, customers and trainers all embraced this new way of learning. We were receiving fantastic feedback about our online courses including being told that this delivery method was “definitely the way forward”.
It wasn’t long until IOSH and NEBOSH, as well as CITB, had all approved the online delivery of their courses. This meant delegates received the same certificate they would if they were completing the course in the classroom.
Those ‘coming weeks’ turned into months, then into years. Coronavirus stayed around for longer than we all anticipated which meant online learning was also sticking around.
We’re now two years on and are extremely proud to have been part of the redevelopment of training for the construction sector. Thinking about the times when sitting in a classroom was the only option for some courses feels unfamiliar as online delivery has become such a huge part of 3B Training’s portfolio.
Our suite of online learning courses come with many benefits for our delegates and customers including…
Here’s what our Head of Learner Experience, Rob Boardman, has to say about online learning…
“Online learning has transformed the way the construction industry is able to access training. Introducing new ways of training in an environment that had always been focused on the classroom was challenging. However, the benefits to our customers have been enormous. I’m proud that we’ve been able to deliver the same high-quality learning in a way that helps more people access the training they need.
We’re now two years on from our first online course. It’s clear that this way of learning is here to stay and is now the preferred option for many people in the industry. Therefore, 3B will continue to innovate and find new ways to make online learning more engaging than ever.”
