The Medium Risk Confined Space and Entry Controller Course is the ideal training for anyone working in a medium risk environment. It is a two-day training course that includes practical elements and is available to complete as a public and in-house course.
You will learn how to use the equipment and tools safely, how to recognise an emergency and how to deal with it.
Individuals who work in a confined space where they may require escape breathing apparatus, or enter the space using manual or mechanical access equipment should attend this course.
Our experienced trainer will teach you how to prepare to work in, enter and exit a medium risk confined space and includes entry control.

Classroom-based Medium Risk Confined Space and Entry Controller courses are available to book at our Blackburn training centre. The course is delivered by an approved trainer in a traditional classroom setting to a group of delegates.
Our public course dates give our customers a range of options for training date and location. Each course date can be booked online or over the phone by individuals or employees booking on their behalf.

The course will give you up to date knowledge of the legislation and standards surrounding confined spaces. This will help you to work legally as well as safely.
The trainer will cover the following topics throughout the course:
Gathering and preparing the information that is required before entry to a confined space
Knowledge of all equipment and procedures to enter a confined space including gas readings, continuous monitoring and positioning of team members
In depth training and use of your EBA in the event of an emergency
Knowledge of Industry equipment used for Combined Space and how to inspect, accept or reject said equipment
Teaching of Safe Systems of Work whilst involved in Confined Space operations and how to report discrepancies
How to react and deal with an emergency situation involving personal, colleague or environment
Learning of the procedures and guidance given by Industry legislation when associated with Confined Space
In depth information explaining all Acts, ACoPs and Guidance
On completion you will have the knowledge and ability to work with and along side Confined space teams as a valued member to colleagues and employer
In the practical part of the course, the tutor will assign the delegates responsibilities to the delegates positioned outside the confined space. Both parties have individual duties to assist with emergency evacuations and controlling the confined space entry.
Upon completing the course, you will have an excellent knowledge of safely working in medium risk confined spaces.
The trainer will assess you on your understanding of the training throughout the day. To pass the course, you will be observed entering a medium risk confined space and a written examination.

You must read, write and understand English well and weigh below 130kg.
You must have the required level of physical fitness to complete the practical elements of the course, and be free of medical conditions, including: heart disease, fear of heights etc.
