The Face Fit Train the Tester course teaches you how to conduct face fit training and how to face fit test your workers.
This training is a one-day course trained by a Fit2Fit accredited instructor.
It is important for employees to have their respiratory protective equipment (RPE) tested by a competent person. By taking this course, you will be rest assured that you have the knowledge to carry out face fit testing the correct way.
This course is suitable for anyone who needs to deliver face fit testing to employees or co-workers on-site.
The qualification that you gain will give you the skills to safeguard your workers’ health. Face fit testing will help to protect them from the airborne hazardous substances that they would otherwise inhale.
Inhaling these substances could lead to serious long-term ill-health and even death. By face fitting at your organisation, you are also following the law.
Anybody who wears a closefitting mask for their work must legally attend a face fit test.
During this course, a Fit2Fit accredited instructor will show you how to conduct face fit testing yourself and discuss the different types of masks available.

Explained in real terms. Practical and already being put to use in my day to day work.
Face Fit Testing is a procedure that will determine that RPE or Respiratory Protective Equipment correctly fits an individual wearer without breaking the tight seal to their face. By successfully completing the test the wearer can undertake work around harmful respiratory hazards.
Yes, face fit testing is a legal requirement for anyone who is required to wear tight fitting RPE for their work; this is an approved code of practice under the COSHH Regulations 2002.
If RPE isn’t face fit tested by a competent person, the wearer doesn’t necessarily have a tight seal to their face. Therefore, they will be at risk of consuming harmful substances such as construction dust or gases from their work activities.
The face fit train the tester certificate is valid for three years and must be completed again to renew upon expiry.
If the wearer has any considerable changes to their face e.g., weight loss, weight gain, dental work or facial injury they must retake the test before the three-year expiry.
Face fit testing must be carried out every time the wearer uses a different type of RPE, or their previous certificate has expired.
Many organisations conduct face fit testing annually at their own discretion.
Yes, companies who are CITB registered can claim £60 for each delegate who successfully pass this course.
