This course is hosted in an online virtual classroom using Zoom.

To access the course, delegates must join the course using the link provided. However, they will need a computer or laptop with a screen, camera, microphone and access to the internet to attend this course online. The final exam is completed online.

We have multiple dates for the remote learning course available to book online or over the phone.

This course is available as a classroom based course in our training venues across the UK. We have a range of bookable public course dates plotted throughout the year that individuals or companies can book onto.

The course is delivered in a traditional classroom format by a CITB approved tutor for 4 to 20 delegates. This classroom course is one of our more popular training courses. You can book one or multiple spaces of the course online via our website or over the phone.

We can also organise the Site Safety Plus Temporary Works Coordinator course to be delivered to you on an in-house basis. We can deliver in-house courses in either the classroom, remote learning or at a venue of your choosing.

CITB scheme rules require a minimum of 4 delegates and a maximum of 12 delegates. Bear this in mind when enquiring about in-house training.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

However, delegates on this course are expected to have a working knowledge of the following before attending the course:

  • Health and safety legislation, in particular in relation to temporary works
  • Health and safety principles and understand the importance of risk management, design considerations, inspection and testing and recording and monitoring requirements.
  • CDM Regulations 2015
  • Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs) and guidance notes that contribute to safe practices in temporary works

Learners need to be prepared to discuss and explore the above whilst on the course.

Learners who have achieved the CITB SSSTS or CITB SMSTS courses will have gained the knowledge and met the expectations stated above.

To further support delegates, CITB has created a Temporary works awareness eLearning which provides a foundation of the points that will be expanded on in this course.

It explores how health and safety legislation plays a pivotal role in temporary works, and how documents which are common to more generic construction activities are a useful aid for planning and the ongoing management and monitoring of temporary works.

It is strongly recommended that delegates with limited knowledge on Temporary works complete this eLearning prior to attending this course. This is free to access here: CITB Temporary Works General Awareness 

You will need photographic ID and national insurance number on the first day of the course. To issue a qualification, we need to ensure that the correct person is attending the course.

To attend the Online Learning course

You must have access to a computer or laptop that uses a microphone and webcam. To interact with the tutor and those attending, you must be easily seen and heard throughout.

The rules also require you to be seen by the invigilator whilst completing the exam.

Some self-study may be required outside of the course

Assessment

To pass the course successfully, you will need to get 76% or above in the final exam. You are also encouraged to interact and get involved throughout the course by the trainer.

    This is a one-day course that equates to approximately 7.5 hours of learning.

    You will only have to spend one day away from work to finish the training.

    Upon completion of the training, you will renew your certificate and receive a new copy within 6-8 weeks. Your certificate will expire after five years, and can be renewed by attending the course again.
